What do you do to cure when you feel mentally ill or depressed ?

If you want to do microdosing with mushrooms - where do you get them in a manner that you can be sure of purity and of exact amount of contents?

Pick in forests , dry them and weight them. Obviously you need to know which ones to pick and eat. I dont know how in the rest of the world but here in Lithuania we have an old saying - "you high on mushrooms or what is wrong with you" and this saying exist for a reason :)
My family member consumes mushrooms ( micro-dosing ) to have better sleep as no other things are helping for her. and she pics these mushrooms in the forest, dries them and then micro-doses. Obviously you have many different strains so you look for info on what is what as there are plenty of people who had experience with it.
Appeal to nature fallacy. Cyanide is natural too, so is nightshade.

Oh yeah, sardines as well ... . Ayahuasca, mushrooms are consumed by people for ages and people who are in their 70s-80s are consuming them as well - psychedelics etc does not mean its for people to trip their balls just to trip their balls - its for clear the brain if you use with caution. Its like weed - youngsters smoke just to smoke , get high be "cool" others smoke for its benefits - pain release, brain activity - im always choosing what to smoke and if i dont like what is written about the particular strain - i dont smoke ( if i want to brainstorm an idea, understand whats written in the code - i will smoke white widow strain if i have and so on ). So its all about consumption with "brains attached" is the key.
Well - what works for one - does not for others but some legal without prescription pain killers are more addictive / more dangerous when natural remedies.
We have painkillers called Solphadein and they come in 2 colors and 2 types (tablets and solvable in water , red box and white box) - no prescription but due to caffeine or codeine content they are addictive to some people as you get happy from them and you start to consume them daily ( been there, done that and it was very hard to get away from them ) and weed on another hand - i can smoke if i want or i dont smoke if i dont want. Its all about how you look at it.
I dont know to explain but when you are in th city and you are in the forrest - sometimes you can get headache or dizzines in the forrest and its due to oxygen/air difference compared to city - so naturally you are slowly being poisoned in the city :)))))

Mushrooms are not supposed to be psychedelic/hallucinogenic stuff! Just saute some chantrelles and rustulas with some onion and potatoes, and make yourself a nice, satisfying meal:

But they have hardly been grown in a controlled environment. I would expect the amount of psychoactive component to vary widely per gram of mushrooms.
Milligrams. Yes, im sure its vary but im not sure on how much, thats why you take in milligrams and "from - to". Need to talk with experts on more in detailed info.
 
Medication can help and can at time be needed.
I hit what I would call a "gray wall". I followed my schedule, did the things I was supposed to enjoy or the things I found the most productive and least boring,
ate healthy (no sugar), exercised every other day for long runs, slept enough hours etc ...

Still I lacked motivation for any of the things I did and simply did it of discipline. So I kind of knew it had something to do with the dopamine system.
I tested both new hobbies and doing other changes but I was still inside the gray wall.

Then my wicked part of mind started to conjure an idea:
"Alright then ... what motivates people the most?"
"Addictions"

And since I was smoker when I was younger I thought it was a long time since I used tobacco so I went and bought the Swedish snuff and after that things have been actually running well.
Also added some sugar cakes to the healthy diet I had and it also helped.

Looking at it I often think that in my time and age I would need to have a partner and my family and kids to gain motivation from that.
But that's simply not my luck so ... xD

I am unsure if it was in some psychiatry books or clinic papers I read about treating depression where they could recommend the
patient to start smoking to ease possible anxiety and depressive emotions.

Guess it helps. It's dopamine and all.

Self medicating by macrodosing on high glycemic food will do it too. It'll take a while but will certainly do the job too.

Time to elaborate.

High glycemic foods cause a serotonin spike. Many people who are depressed lack proper serotonin levels. So they self medicate by eating junk food. And, a lot of it. The downside is the insulin spike which drives that excess sugar into the fat cells, among other things. The other problem is that the body becomes accustomed to the periods of rising and falling serotonin. And rising and falling insulin. A person needs to eat more to get the same rush. And of course after each rush there's a crash. So, over time people who self medicate by eating junk food are slowly and unwittingly committing suicide.

There is some science to this.
