For my part everything went well I did the all upgrade kde5 to kd6 it was smooth but pkg didn't give some packages so I checked everything and installed some missing package afterward. Plasma 6 work well. As for signal I don't use it.
Apologies for my ignorance, please elaborate a little.7.52.0_1 works well for me
I'm using net-im/signal-desktop 7.52.0_1 on 14 and it works.Apologies for my ignorance, please elaborate a little.
Thanks.
$ pkg install signal-desktop
…
pkg: No packages available to install matching 'signal-desktop' have been found in the repositories
If you runpkg is giving me
Code:$ pkg install signal-desktop … pkg: No packages available to install matching 'signal-desktop' have been found in the repositories
and I dread the compilation time of the ports dependencies.
pkg search signal
you'll see that there isn't any binary for the app. And as I understood it there is no port for it in FreeBSD. If it's not in the ports, there could be two reason there is no developer or committer for the app or the code source is not in the standard of the FreeBSD community. I think only app with good code are being ported. But in FreeBSD you can also run Linux app if you don't find your happiness in the port tree.The port exists, see net-im/signal-desktop.If you runpkg search signal
