What is the status of R-Pi 5 support?

I am particularly interested in the state of support for the following on the R-Pi platform, both R-Pi4 and R-Pi5. I will be needing support for native booting from either USB attached SSD or possibly NVMe SSD without having to fiddle with EDK II boot first. I could tolerate EDK boot while starting the development, but would definitely want native boot as soon as possible. I also need user mode support for Ethernet, GPIO, serial port, USB to make this board "look like" a HID device (read keyboard), and user terminal provided via USB for real keyboard and HDMI. I would like to start work under release 14.n and transition to 15.m when that becomes available. Any status updates on the support or lack thereof for these things as well as any suggestions for supporting software as libraries or packages to support the user mode interaction would be greatly appreciated. Any advice from someone who has been there and done that so as to point me in the right direction from early in the project would be quite helpful to avoid having to make all the mistakes for myself.

There has been some interest in exploring a Compute Module 4 in connection with parts of this as well, but it appears that support for that board is not quite up to prime time yet. Any insight into using that little beast under FreeBSD would also be welcome.

Thanks!
