Learn FreeBSD Jails with Pictures

I don't know if you guys are already aware of this work, those PDF are a nice way to promote/learn FreeBSD Jails through pictures.

This work is done by this guy:
aka rdx_in
Which also made many others pictures about Booting Process, OpenZFS, etc

I am not sure if he's still around on the forum, I see he's on mastodon (which gains a lot of FreeBSD users lately it seems) but I'd love to see him re-upload some old pictures from his wiki page in bigger resolution, and why not add the wallpapers he made too.
This is probably not what people expect when it comes to tech but I think he's good at what he's doing.

UPDATE:
For the next pictures look at the message #22

That's really nice - thanks for sharing (and many more thanks to the creator/author of this!)

I guess it would be nice if the pictures in the wiki could be enlarged - or at least link to the original source PDF.

Thanks for pinging me! Yes, Rahul (padukajorat) created them and I only host them - all kudos to him for the work!

I also printed them in several copies and shared them on some tech/open source conferences (maybe the OP came this way aware of this; TDOSE conference in NL?).

I think he’s very active in the community and is also reachable in the BSDCafe Matrix channel and also often joins my BSDPub weekly call (https://bsdpub.bsd.cafe). Feel free to jump in :)

Hello Everyone, i am available here, although i don't go by name padukajorat here. Thanks for your feedback. :) i am glad you liked my work and my intent is to keep it up as long as i can. the only thing is hosting which (Thanks to) gyptazy helping me for recent issues of FreeBSD jails, the old ones at OnePageTech - FreeBSD Wiki few of them are with less resolution, usually pages are created of 1920x1080px. i will review and upload the ones which are with less resolution on FreeBSD wiki, including wallpapers.:)

Thanks to @grahamperrin for pining me on mastodon about this. i will be reachable at Mastodon and BSDCafe Matrix Channel, I do join BSDPub Weekly call, feel free to hop in.

Happy to see that you are still among us, can't wait to see what's coming next, Thank you mate!
Could you tell us what are the tools you use to make those pictures/pdf ?

I drew his attention to your topic here (thanks).
Thank you for that, I wasn't brave enough to register myself on Mastodon.

You're welcome and yes kudos to him!
Honestly I was a bit hesitant to post that here because I know pictures and tech are not always welcome but looking at people reaction I am glad I did, it seems I am not alone to appreciate rdx_in 's work.

I can't remember exactly where I first see one of them but I think if was because of vermaden Valuable News, always a pleasure to discover blogs and all sort of things you never heard of before.
That being said thank you for hosting those PDF, and also congrats for your blog which made me look into manpageblog, nice.

:) I use Inkscape to create these, sometimes procreate on ipad to get the taste of realistic colours, hence pdf/picture become big size, i am still learning InkScape but i am not artist. I am also Learning blender to have animation based tech which might influence lot of new comers towards BSD.

I have uploaded the higher resolution PICS, zpool concepts needs some modification since last release, will update or probably will create new one.

Well somehow you are an artist, you do a good job with Inkscape keep it up mate, I thought that you were using Illustrator or something equivalent.
I do myself play with Inkscape sometimes but I realize how my skills are low now, I really need some training, lol.

Wow that was quick.
That's great, thanks a lot!

Your stuff reminds of "Illustrating BASIC". Back in the early 80s there was a great book called "Illustrating Basic" by a guy called Donald Alcock. I pretty much learned BASIC from that book, on micros. Great way to transmit information. There's an excerpt here that gives you an idea of what it was like:-
The whole book was (from memory) maybe a hundred pages long. I think the author drew the whole thing by hand. Anyway maybe that can give you some more ideas :)

That author’s name sounds familiar. Years ago I had an introduction to C (spiral-bound, lots of fine-ink drawings) that he might have written.

Oh yes this is really awesome, mine kind of resembles the same, thanks for sharing, it’s treasure of ideas.

Oh man... I didn't know he did one on C... now I'll have to get it! I've already got far too many old programming books too! It's no good... can't resist...

One of the fun things I remember after looking at that excerpt is he has the little bugs drawn all over the place to draw your attention to ... bugs! Check out page 6 for an example. Very inventive and useful, and concise.

PS:
I post them here just in case they disappear ... but the following one ""FreeBSD_Jails_Part_5.pdf seems too big (2.8M) because the server complains about its size (fair enough).
Dear gotnull:
thanks for your sharing pdf about jail. can you send the
FreeBSD_Jails_Part_5.pdf
to my email address ? thanks.

UPDATE:
Since it's not possible to put more than 5 attached files in one post there is no point in editing the first message.
I will try to keep the thread updated as much as I can by adding the next pictures on this very thread.
As always thanks to rdx_in for the work.

You can download them here as well, see #1 and #22.

I have updated the first message, you can now download "FreeBSD_Jails_Part_5.jpeg" instead of "FreeBSD_Jails_Part_5.pdf".
But if you insist on the PDF format you can download it here where it will be available during 45 days only.
Have fun ;)

Also may be you should remove your address mail from public space if you don't want to get spammed.
