Can I make an operating system based on the latest or any FreeBSD?

Hello, I am a not a old nor a new user of FreeBSD. I have acquired some good knowledge from the handbook. I have the system on my VirtualBox. I run Linux Mint as my real OS. I was just wondering If i could make an operating system based on this FreeBSD by either editing source code or any other possible way. I have my own custom commands ready (Hosted on github named "utils") and a good shell written by me named "bShell" (also on github). I am an amateur at programming.

Your help is appreciated.

You know, FreeBSD is an operating system? It's fully open source and liberally licensed, so if your question is whether you can take it and modify it as you like, the answer is trivially: yes.

Thanks for your tips! I don't really know how to use ports, the package manager. I like your occupation though, you work with something I like very much!
