Apparently I might have to update my bios. The purpose of this thread is to attempt to confirm that, and collect any other advice the community might have to offer.
The computer in question is a Dell Latitude E7450, and currently has GhostBSD installed. I just downloaded the latest amd64 image, checked the hash, put it on my ventoy. That's what I'm trying to install. I have previously tried installing OpenBSD, that doesn't work either, not that it was ever, strictly speaking, supposed to.
I have no idea how to update my bios. I can, and will, google with the best of them, (..obvious place to start..), but if somebody here just "knows" the answer and could possibly save me hours worth of research, (maybe my bios is fine?) it seems worth asking the question. GhostBSD -is- based on FreeBSD..
-> oh, and I'm booting with UEFI. Apparently FreeBSD no longer works with legacy.. (tried it months ago, didn't work)
..the computer is currently at the "mountroot>" console.. I can type commands, etc, apparently.
..this actually looks closer to my problem..
More info: "Mounting from ufs:/dev/ufs/FreeBSD_Install failed with error 19" ..plenty of other output, I can enter it if necessary..
