Other What does FAULT mean in top -m io?

Hi,

I started an io-heavy process in one of my jails and was monitoring its status using top -m io -o total and I noticed I sometimes got numbers in the FAULT column.

I had a look at the man page but I can't find what it actually means. Is it like a cache miss or should I take it as I have corrupted files / faulty hardware?

Thanks, my search skills failed me.

So nothing to worry about. It's just that the process is generating io because it's accessing memory that was paged out. Correct?
