What books are you reading right now?

I've read a lot of Sci-Fi books lately. Such as from John Scalzi, most of his books.

I've been reading the I Robot from the Isaac Asimov lately. I've finished the Foundation series, it was good.

Besides technical, and other specialist literature (self coaching, or philosophy [I really can recommend it!]) - I always switch between those, and entertainment; one cannot always read only one kind - currently I'm reading O'Brian's Aubrey–Maturin series (20 books with >200...300p each)
Really great! Long time not read anything written as good as that! Really addicting! When reading in bed you need to watch out to get to sleep in time - especially when they get into battle. That's real action no movie can provide! That's like best adventure books I fed as a boy, but for adults. It's also very technical. I'm getting into sailing ships, sea tactics, and details about muzzleloaders
Good english reading is recommended. There are translations, but most of the atmosphere comes from the original Navy talk at the early 19th century. Besides a good dictionary, maybe even for native speakers (e.g. Webster's, "College Dictionary") I recommend to have Dean King a.o., "A Sea of Words", and "Harbors and High Seas" at hands.

No doubt it has been partially written about C++23 before 2023, yes :)

I find it one of the more pleasant C++ books right now. Very dense, though, lots of material per page. It only has 800 pages, so what you gonna do?

The Sympathizer by Viet Thanh Nguyen.
The previous one was Four Thousand Weeks by Burkeman, and the next one I think will be Power and Progress by Acemoglu and Johnson.

Neil Postman, 'Amusing Ourselves to Death', <200p

I don't care much about scifi, or fantasy; to me that's avoiding reality.
I always wanted to read Bukowski, but - honestly (you may laugh now) - I'm a bit afraid of him. 🤔
