vscode, unable to paste

I checked copy/paste with other applications and as best as I can tell, they're still working. I exited X11, logged out completely and back in and it is still occurring. I can copy out of VSCode, but I cannot paste from within VSCode or from another data source into VSCode. I also cannot right-click and select paste. I should say, I can select that option, but it does nothing.

It is like the paste function is completely blocked.

The only thing I tried to do this morning was update my BIOS, but I could not since I could not find the option in the BIOS. I don't believe I did anything other than that.

EDIT:
I can paste in the open file dialog.

I have same issue ... people had same issue with vim keybinds in vscode , turned off and it worked, but not for me.. i deleted vim keybinds - same problem, deleted vs code, cache files - everything, reinstalled and still have to use ctrl+shift+v but copy works fine... even tried trough settings go and change binds... i noted it always shows CAPITAL V which make no sense...

It WAS working. Yes, CTRL+SHIFT+v works. But, just this morning, CTRL+v was working, I swear. What happened, was it just me or something I did?

Again, the strange thing is that I cannot right-click and select paste, that does not work for whatever reason.

I can confirm same behavior on 1.97.1_2 (as of today in repo 'latest'). Ctrl-Shift-V works, which still is very bad. The path of re-configuring key bindings also yields very unsatisfactory results.

Verison 1.97.1 appears to be a very bad one as paste is one of the core functionalities. So 1.96_2 is the last one with working. Too bad today I switched to 'latest' and all dependencies that 1.96_2 uses are not available any more.

Apparently this is not a FBSD bug as it has to do with the following VSCode Bug report.

Thanks for researching. After using this for the past 2 weeks, it has seeped into my memory, now I'm using that shortcut for other things ... It's contagious and not in a good way.
