Solved Tmux not displaying utf-8 symbols?

I'm new to FreeBSD I have the same version of tmux installed that I had installed in debian and arch linux. Same configs, but things look a lot different in FreeBSD.

This is what my prompt looks like without tmux running http://imgur.com/UFNOaj1

When I open tmux, with my existing config or without it this is what it looks like.

I tried running tmux with -u and there was no difference. Going back over to my linux box it all works as expected, so not sure what could be causing it? Thanks in advance.

Turns out the issue is fixed in the master branch of tmux. Not sure what commit actually fixed it right now, but this is solved.
