ZFS Kill Your Pool With Slog

Hi,

on ZoL I removed a slog drive during heavy load (nfs). No problems.

Few hours ago, I removed a slog from a freebsd system, I suffered destruction of the pool and stunned system: during the process of receiving an snapshot I removed the slog device of the main pool. No zfs command could be executed anymore. System reboot was impossible. It shut down until some level, but in the end the system had to be reseted hardly.

I assume removing of slog device during regular load on a pool is supported/possible in freebsd, right? I think I read it somewhere, today in the morning.

FreeBSD 12.0 is End-of-Life and not supported any more. Maybe upgrade to 12.2?

I am just about to upgrade all systems to 12.2. - that's why I did all the snapshots to the other machine and just played around with slog device ;)

Do you think that slog caused dead of the pool will not occure when trying same on 12.2 or even 13.0?
