Hi,
There were a few threads going, but I think my experience does not fit the others--sorry in advance if new thread frowned on...
Running amd64 ver.14.2 p1 on two daily drivers (for about six months with no issues). Not new, but not slouches either. One has an older Radeon vid adapter, other has Nvidia.
Ran the updates both from within KDE as sudo, also as root. Ran updates from terminal prompt as root as well and have same results all attempts (about 8 or 9 now).
The Radeon machine always hangs and goes back to terminal. The Nvidia machine successfully starts x, but does not look like KDE (looks more like TWM with no menus and no way to exit other than reboot from terminal window).
My updates on both machines are set to "latest" rather than release (first time have run into issues).
Have gotten very competent with zfs rollback. Wondering if future updates will just work their way out, or if I should go back to release.
