Solved Gnome-Mplayer - Polish diacritical marks in subtitles.

Hi,
Problem as in topic.
I downloaded Gnome-Mplayer and configured "Language" and "Subtitles" as CP1250. After that I installed "Cousine" fonts. This is font for ChromeOS - equivalent for MS TTF fonts.
When run movie and polish subs, shows me strange marks but not polish accents. I combined multiple configurations with encoding but no one help me - always strange marks or no subs.
I also tried other movies - not help.

My localization:
Code:
ska@maszynka:~ % locale
LANG=pl_PL.UTF-8
LC_CTYPE="pl_PL.UTF-8"
LC_COLLATE="pl_PL.UTF-8"
LC_TIME="pl_PL.UTF-8"
LC_NUMERIC="pl_PL.UTF-8"
LC_MONETARY="pl_PL.UTF-8"
LC_MESSAGES="pl_PL.UTF-8"
LC_ALL=
ska@maszynka:~ %

How I can fix this problem?

Thanks for help,
Ł.Sz

Option sub_utf8=yes in ~/.mplayer/gui.conf don't work.
I have in a VM gnome-mplayer running. The only configuration is the one in post # 4, no gui.conf, no Polish local. There are two empty directories under .config/gnome-mplayer, cover_art and plugin.

Polish subtitles, embedded in video and separate .srt files, are displayed correctly (as far I can tell).

Hi,
I checked all once again and all works perfectly. I see polish accents. Thanks again 👍.
