Generalized Precision Time Protocol (gPTP) .

Hello, I am student and I have never used FreeBSD before, my professor gave me assignment to look in to gPTP implementation on FreeBSD and I have no Idea how to get access to it.
Please help me to understand where should I look for it and information about its structure and components, and I appreciate any side information about it and how to actually read and use this module/daemon.
The actual assignment is to get an idea of its implementation and its extent and at best to understand and use it. I have already read the whole standard and I have the general and overall information about TSN, PTP and gPTP now its time to make my hands dirty with a working implementation.

Thanks for your response, Pleas correct me if I am wrong PTP is IEEE 1588 standard, but gptp is IEEE 802.1AS standard and as far as I understand they are different things. If yes, then ptpd2 is not what I am looking for.

I have no idea. The ptpd2.conf(5) page implies that it supports "Enable IEEE 802.1AS / AVB compatibility (transportSpecific field in PTP message headers)." via ptpengine:dot1as. If that is just compatibility or a switch to enable gptp mode you need to figure out on your own.
