FreeBSD for music production

Hi guys, i would like to give bsd a go on my thinkpad (t490). Im actually using slackware, tend to switch between kde and xfce and have a pretty minimal system. Now i need 3 programs: Ardour, Vcv RACK and SuperCollider. Obviously everything is connected via jack. Are these available in bsd?

They are available. I found that the majority of music programs worked the same for me when I switched from Linux. You should post an update here with your experience.

I recommend checking freshports.org for any additional software and compatibility with your version of FreeBSD.

VCV Rack appears to be available in a wrapper called cardinal.

pkg install audio/cardinal

OBS Studio has audio filters you can apply to your mic but they dont have any visual feedback by showing the audio waveform

You can also use VST 2 audio filters with OBS Studio but on my system the VST 2 option doesnt show up under filters

Being a hardcore Renoise user, my love of trackers brought me to use Fast Tracker 2 clone, Milky Tracker and Pro Tracker 2 clone on FreeBSD using only OSS. The old trackers feel like a perfect fit for me running on FreeBSD.
