FreeBSD 14 and MacMini Late 2012 Hardware Support

Hello everyone,

It's been some years that I haven't posted here, although I'm here quite often reading the contents of this forum in a week basis to help solving my issues. Today, I'm not going to post any question but then, some info about the hardware support of the MacMini Late 2012.

You can see the hardware probe here: https://bsd-hardware.info/?probe=365bb9e521

Until now, things seems to work fine, and I'm using dual boot with MacOs Sonoma.

I need further testing to give a better info about this so, probably I'll come to update this post in a while.

So, if you guys are going to try to run FreeBSD 14 in your Intel Mac Mini 2012, before anything else, use the OpenCore Legacy Patcher to Patch your system.

You can find the OpenCore LegacyPatcher here: https://dortania.github.io/OpenCore-Legacy-Patcher/

That way, you can boot the FreeBSD 14 ISO and install the system like a normal PC. Even after the OS is installed, there's no need to bless or anything else.

Later, I'll try to post some screenshots here of the system running.

See ya,

Be very interested to see how your going. Looking at doing this myself but am new to FreeBSD and not afraid of trying a few times to get it correct.

A few weeks ago I lost the ability to boot macOS with OpenCore on a late 2013 iMac (either iMac14,1 or iMac14,3). I spent very little time attempting to resolve the issue, the Mac was written off.
