Found package gcr3 as installed automatically

Recently I have found security/gcr3 in my two systems, I don't know why. I have not installed this and shows that it is required by none. May be some problem with the port and few have also same problem.

Does pkg autoremove want to remove it?

Thank you sir, pkg autoremove did remove this along with another two libs. It was update to gcr-4.3.0 .

Then it was most likely installed as a dependency of something, but a recent update removed it as a dependency. So it was now 'orphaned'. Try to run pkg autoremove every time after a pkg upgrade to clean up old and unused dependencies.

If pkg-autoremove(8) wants to remove something you actually want to keep, have a look at pkg-set(8) to set the package as 'non-automatic', so pkg-autoremove(8) won't remove it.
