Citrix Receiver (net/citrix_ica)

… older …

Tim1980 I'm happy to help you in this topic (I'm the opening poster).

A belated welcome to The FreeBSD Forums.

… I still get the message I have to download etc etc;

cd /usr/ports/net/citrix_ica/
make install clean

Code:
===> citrix_ica-13.10.0 May not be redistributed due to licensing. Please
visit https://www.citrix.com/downloads/citrix-receiver/linux/ accept their
license and download linuxx86-13.10.0.20.tar.gz into /usr/ports/distfiles.
*** Error code 1

Stop.
make: stopped in /usr/ports/net/citrix_ica

So I've accepted the license and moved the download to /usr/ports/distfiles and still get the same output after re-executing. …

linuxx86-13.10.0.20.tar.gz is the correct file.

From my /usr/local/etc/poudriere.d/make.conf file (I use poudriere):

Code:
# <https://old.reddit.com/r/freebsd/comments/186dt28/-/kb7t38k/>
DISABLE_LICENSES=yes

Do you have the DISABLE_LICENSES=yes line in your /etc/make.conf file?

try setting your browser user-agent string to a single word (for the site that detects the device as unsupported)
TNX. Seems to be a strange solution that only one-word user-agents are accepted. With the boss' IT, I don't ask anymore 'why'.

I use the provided Wadows-laptop for work and after 17 I close the lid.

Primary reason that I don't want any connection to the boss' network on my own computer is for _my_ security reasons. I've seen too many bad things they use for 'security'...

Damn slow on Windows too. I *do* feel pain for my customers forced to use it to run some buggy SaaS.
Poor coding by design...?

Poor coding by design...?

I doubt it.

In my experience, Citrix Workspace (not to be confused with Receiver) never shows signs of poor coding. When users do report problems: in the majority of cases, they're perceptibly with Workspace but actually at a different level.

Similarly, Receiver on Windows was never a problem for me.

Refocus on the port to FreeBSD, rewind to 2021:

For me, most things become almost completely non-responsive immediately after the application starts.

Fast-forward to 2024: until very recently, I got the impression that things were significantly improved. I was preparing to quietly close this FreeBSD bug:

Unfortunately, now I get no progress beyond this:

I guess, the remote environment no longer allows unsupported clients that are so archaic. Fair enough.

I had the problem a few times, it seems transient, I don't know what causes it.

… While i did install the necessary linux-c7 libraries, i'm using the ubuntu-environment for linux compatibility. So i'm a bit unsure if this is supposed to work …

I doubt that it will work.

I couldn't get net/citrix_ica to work with emulators/linux-rl9.
