Hi Friends!
I have a Intel Atom D2700 based nettop and FreeBSD 12.2 i386 fresh install.
That PC has a integrated Wi-Fi on a USB bus based on a RTL8191S chipset:
# usbconfig list
ugen2.1: <Intel UHCI root HUB> at usbus2, cfg=0 md=HOST spd=FULL (12Mbps) pwr=SAVE (0mA)
ugen3.1: <Intel UHCI root...
Does anybody has USB WLAN card to recommend for running AP (hostapd)?
I tried multiple run and urtwn cards but they are not stable - don't know how to precise debug network setup but there are dropped pings to Internet, sometimes internet won't work but ssh-ing to another machine will work...
Anyone knows if this is supported?
Running a Lenovo T470 with Intel atm, but seems to be a bit slow.
Noticed that they have whitelisted the Realtek card below, not sure if it would work better or not at all with FreeBSD.
Realtek RTL8822BE - Wi-Fi 2x2 802.11ac + BT4.1, M.2 card
Could it work...
I have been searching a lot for a recommended wi-fi card, usb or internal works either way.
Ive got the default wifi card which uses the iwm(4) but I know that it doesn't support higher speeds.
I see people recommending the Atheros cards but which one?
Is it recommended buying a USB-adapter...
My new laptop uses Qualcomm Atheros QCA9377 Wireless Network Adapter, which is a kind of ath10k family which FreeBSD currently doesn't support.
if someone is working for that, I'll wait for it. otherwise, I have to buy USB network dongle.
