My 2560x1440 monitor keeps going to sleep after a period of inactivity in xfce. I'm not sure what causes it to go to sleep. Is the the console blanking or is XFCE doing power management - Any tips on determining what process if putting the display to sleep will be appreciated. Anyway, the...
Forgive me for the vague title, I was not sure how to describe the issue. I got FreeBSD 14 installed on my Thinkpad T14 recently, when I wake up the device from sleep I see the bare console with a login prompt a few seconds before XFCE loads (into the screensaver/lockscreen) it's not a big issue...
To get a few things out of the way:
I'm running FreeBSD 13.2-p4 on a Lenovo ThinkPad T590.
I have sleep working wonderfully, zero issues, whatsoever.
I also use Xscreensaver as a locking utility for X.
How can I set it up so that the screen locks THEN goes to sleep?
I believe I heard somewhere...
Hi,
I have this nvidia card and the card is running so far.
The HDMI output of this card goes to a KVM HDMI Switch from Delock. So far so good. Is working at boot but sleeps after a while and can't awake again the HDMI Output. The Keyboard is working. How I can force the graphic card to give...
Hello,
Recently I've switched from Slackware to FreeBSD-13.0 on my T430s. I'm very happy with how does the system run etc. but some things just seem to not work that well:
Laptop goes to sleep after opening a lid. To suspend the laptop I have to close and then open the lid, only after then it...

It's frequently necessary to force off a computer (HP EliteBook 8570p, sometimes docked) when an attempt to suspend fails, with these messages from kernel:
pcm3: unregister: mixer busy
pcm3: Waiting for sound application to exit!
I subscribe to this bug:

I experimented:
$ grep -i acpi /boot/loader.conf
hw.acpi.power_button_state="S3"
$
Not effective. I guess, because hw.acpi.power_button_state is a sysctl variable but not a loader tunable; acpi.
Is there a way to have the button suspend by default?
TIA
For some reason I'm trying to get FreeBSD installed on a notebook (weird, I know) and I'm having trouble getting sleep mode working right. If you run acpiconf -s 3 (or even quit X with Ctrl-Alt-Backspace) while X is running, the screen does this, and if you run it from the command line...
