Dear FreeBSD Gurus! How to disable noisy/annoying output from BIOS (motherboard, RAID, IDE controllers, etc…) on tty0 ? I mean that a lot of messages (for example “noperiph:ata0:0….rescan already queued”, “ugen1:.7…at usbus1”, “RAID Consistency check….done”, …” make impossible to comfortable...

Partly because I use AMD hardware, it took me a few weeks to realise that $amd_enable is not related to AMD. Is the truncation below – in /var/log/messages – more likely to be a bug in the base system, the port, or both? % grep amd_enable /var/log/messages Nov 10 06:30:09...

By default FreeBSD puts kernel messages (white color) on the first console. I know I can disable them with boot_mute in the /boot/loader.conf file, but is there a way to move them to second console instead of disabling them? ... or to redirect them to some file instead of disabling them...

I use a simple but sturdy KVM with a wireless mouse and keyboard. Every time I come back after switching to another port on the kvm, I'm greeted with a dozen disconnect/reconnect messages for all the affected devices. Is there a simple way to suppress them? I notice that they don't appear...
