i3 i3wm tilling window manager

Hello, I just installed FreeBSD in a Vmware. And installed the required packages for i3 (plus rofi). It started twice without any problems, but now all I get is a blank screen. And <alt> [Enter] doesn't not open a terminal? TIA, David
