Anyone here playing Minecraft on a FreeBSD desktop installation with the latest Minecraft Java Edition v1.18 client?
I have just tried to find out what the current status is on this, but the information is not conclusive:
The port games/minecraft-client is outdated (v1.7.9_6) and unmaintained...
Hello FreeBSD community. Finally! )
I'm sorry for my English, I have not much practice.
First of all, what I have: laptop with RTX2060, i7, nvme, uefi.
What I know in linux: debian -> slackware -> arch.
We scared by videos on YouTube about FreeBSD. They say there are many really simple...
I use the Linuxulator for Steam, but I've never tried running a Linux game outside of linux-steam-utils. I'm curious, are GOG Linux games as simple as having the Linuxulator enabled and running whatever binary starts it? The only GOG games I've ran have been through WINE, so this is why I'm...

Hear me out, I'm in the same boat as anyone else that Flash is garbage that deserved to die but that's not the point of this thread. There has been thousands of wonderful games that were made in Flash (it was better for games than its actual purpose!) and there's still many that can't be ported...

Hi! Everytime I try to set custom settings in games/gzdoom such as custom hotkeys, graphics or audio, it works for the current session but it is reset to defaults on the next launch. My settings do not seem to be saved anywhere.
I got my wads from Steam if that's of any help, and it doesn't...
I am trying to record the audio of Games on FreeBSD, but it seams the FreeBSD does not record the output that year from games. I was success full to record sound from the desktop like Rhythmbox and Firefox but not Games. To me that does not make any sense.
I use OBS.
Does anyone knows how to...
I read the steps to porting a new program to FreeBSD and saw that first you download the source code and get it to run on your own system and then compile it or something. How do you do this for runescape launcher?
Hello people :)
I bought two games in Humble Bundle: Deponia The Complete Journey and Gone Home.
Both games have the system requirements on their respective link and have a DRM-Free version.
Will DRM-Free linux version of both games natively work in FreeBSD?
P.S. I only attached the script that...
Maybe you're starting to get sick of my posts, because often I am a little bother.
But now I need help to accelerate a game, called games/nexuiz , and another called games/xonotic. Both run EXTREMELY low on my PC. The program didn't freeze, but it has a delay of the movement both the pointer of...
Can somebody give me some names of games that runs well in this OS?
Version: 11.1-RELEASE-p6. I think that it's the latest.
Processor: I think i386. To the day of day, still I don't have very clear what my processor is. But somebody time ago give me a clue.
The games could be from Linux...

I am looking to make an old school style game such as NES games like super mario or elevator action. I've been searching around the internet for programming graphics on the terminal on unix but I haven't seen anything that I think is what I need. Does anyone have any suggestions on where to get...
These are some of the engines that I briefly checked out. The links lead to the part of the codetrees that contain OS specific support, not the root of the codetrees. There're many other engines, but I left out engines who either did not have code repositories online, were for specifically for...
This is small howto for games/ags, the Adventure Game Studio engine. It gives us access to many old-school adventure games on FreeBSD. It is not immediately obvious how to run games with it, so I thought that a short howto on the forums is a good idea.
Many games come with a Windows setup...
Hello all,
I was hoping to get some help with a new project I have started. The project is called GameBSD. GameBSD is a collection of tools for creating games for FreeBSD. Currently, only FreeBSD 32-bit and 64-bit are supported. I am looking for people to test both the GameBSD Handbook and...
Hi, I'm a Linux user(ArchLinux) thinking about switching to FreeBSD. After a bit of googling, the only doubt I have left is what game/multimedia programming libraries are there for FreeBSD. I searched for some and found out that there are sdl and allegro ports, although these libraries don't...
