What a deal!!! That is the pure Optane memory one!! Unreal they are fast makes me wonder why they got rid of them. Does the new ones have the software on board ? Who knows, I wonder if that one would work at all in FreeBSD as it’s just Optane and no SSD with it.FWIW, the 16 GB Optane drives sell for $5 on Ebay.

This is a good read, so it is separate devices on one pcb how can FreeBSD see the memory, I am only seeing the SSD.Great idea. In theory that should be possible; but in practical circumstances, I agree with cracauer.
System only detects the Intel® Optane™ Memory Media and not the Intel® QLC 3D NAND hints that this might be achievable. Unfortunately Optane (support & and production) is very much on the way out, and currently Intel has more pressing worries. So unless you're very lucky and "in-the-know" about intel internal driver properties:
