general/other Linux based applications not working

Beginner here (again), I tried downloading discord along with some other apps intended for linux since I heard that most linux stuff works on FreeBSD, but whenever I double click them, nothing happens. I tried checking the system monitor to see if they're even running, and they aren't. Any help would be appreciated.

You probably need to "brand" them first. The system has to know these are Linux executables that need to be run through the Linux compatibility layer, or else the system is going to assume these are FreeBSD executables.

I tried doing that just now, but it didn't work.
Though I may have found something else - I tried opening on of the applications in terminal and I got this error message:
"error while loading shared libraries: libcups.so.2: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory"
