For some reason my function keys have stopped working.
Can anyone suggest how to diagnose the problem?
This is on a ThinkPad X1 Carbon running FreeBSD 13. Everything works normally on bootup but for some reason I can no longer use function keys in Emacs or midnight commander which are both running under tmux and Xterm.
Pressing F1 F2 F3 F4 F5 in emacs generates 4z5z6z7z8z.
The chances are that I have done something unintended in either Xterm or tmux, although more than likely in Xterm by accidentally clicking on the wrong keyboard setting.
