I'm using FreeBSD for daily desktop, and am currently locked out due to problems with latest pkg update of KDE and change to plasma6.
In desperation, I've pressed into service an old machine from circa 2009 with dual core Athlon X2 235e and just 4GB of memory. 2 wide screens with nvidia GT210.
Using FreeBSD 14.2 with KDE/plasma5 etc, and it works surprisingly well. Not at all sluggish for rdp connections and browser based tasks.
Just need to make sure that I don't do any pkg update or pkg upgrade by habit or mistake.
