The latest released portaudio version on freshports comes from 2022 (latest official portaudio release) and does not have pulsaudio support.
The docs on portaudio do not have instruction on how to build on FreeBSD, but I know it is possible. It requires ALSA libraries (libasound-dev) to build on Linux, but I can’t seem to find that (or alternatives) to make the build work on FreeBSD. I’m getting the below errors. The configure file does run and pulseaudio shows as “yes” when it completes.
But the “make” command fails saying “don’t know how to make pa_allocation.lo”
What am I doing wrong?
