Amazon prime versus netflix.

I actually quit Netflix recently, although I was a first-hour customer for their DVD plans. They just didn't have much anymore that interested me.

Prime Video has a lot of older things that are relevant to my interests. And I have Prime anyway because of the shipping discount.

We have both, like Netflix a WHOLE lot better for movies.
Prime has commercials and general B.S. that interrupts the movie.
However, Prime has offerings that do not exist on Netflix.
For example, if one wants the B-grade schlock sci-fi from the 60s era, Prime is the place.

Prime; they have Live TV (mostly 24/7s of specific shows but pretty good variety) plus other Amazon stuff (I got some free Runescape membership from Twitch rewards and DRM-free Baldurs Gate 1 :p).

Netflix started looking real sketchy with https://old.reddit.com/r/assholedes...ix_is_now_restricting_some_shows_if_you_have/ like that's wild they even locked out their own in-house series like House of Cards. You gotta pay for their service any-tier, but you aren't allowed to watch good stuff if you don't pay more.

Netflix (afaik) only offers TV episodes and movies. That stuff is also offered by other providers (like Amazon with Prime), and can be found anywhere on numerous other platforms/places with better value imo, and/or less restrictions

Netflix floods you with content but the quality of the story can be questionable. And it's always all about the story.
Prime seems to pick up what they can but it's not their core business so it can take a long time between good stories.

I kinda like Netflix but also noticed that I had been watching less and less... the most notable series was Edgerunners (I enjoy Cyberpunk 2077?) and the rest... well, the irony of it all is that I figured things would change since WWE moved onto Netflix and I used to enjoy sporadically watching Raw and/or Smackdown on YouTube but after a few weeks of that... well... I actually got bored with the sheer repetitiveness week in and week out (not to mention the predictability).

Then my Internet/TV provider got me free access to... Sky showtime and well.. whatever, so I stopped my Netflix subscription; we're currently putting all of that into a savings to fund renewing Dazn at the start of the upcoming NFL season (despite living in the Netherlands I've grown quite fond of a good football match).

These days I'd rather watch the buildup to Superbowl 🏈 than WrestleMania and/or the Rumble. For everything else Sky works for me.

Used to have both.
Prime only for some exclusive tv shows most of the time and older stuff.
Netflix - just because i could use VPN to change regions and Prime did not allowed me.
But by end of the day - said NO to all streaming services as im very picky with "what to watch" i started do more torrents or watch on Youtube ( as there are some things to watch ).

I'm re-watching Steins;Gate and laughing at how they show a hex dump and call it "IBM's proprietary programming language of 1970s"! 😂

But in all honesty, I should get a torrent with better mkv's than what the WhyNot subtitling group was able to prepare and release. 😩
